On the way home from Yurt camping, we stopped by Indian Beach at Ecola State Park to watch the sunset. While we were there, we hiked up the trail to the lighthouse viewpoint. I captured this picture at one of the viewpoints along the trail.
No CommentsWe hiked up Neahkahnie Mountain on the first day of Yurt camping at Nahalem State Park. It was pretty foggy and the cloudy were rolling in and out. This would be a great spot to hike to during sunrise and sunset.
No CommentsWe got a chance to do some Yurt camping at Nahalem State Park in the middle of February. We were worried it would be rained out, but it turned out to be a decent weekend. Here is some drift wood where the kids were playing along the beach at Nahalem State Park.
No CommentsAnother day, another game for Kalin at Upward.
No CommentsThis is a view from the end of Angel’s Rest back towards the mountains that surround the Columbia River. The trail runs along the rocky backbone of Angel’s Rest.
No CommentsAfter leaving Multnomah Creek and taking a 3.6 mile hike, I arrived at Angel’s Rest. You can’t tell from this picture, but the sustained winds were quite high. The high winds made for some interesting times on top of the out cropping called Angel’s Rest. This view is looking Northeast into the Gorge.
No CommentsOne view of Multnomah Creek before heading back to the Wahkeena Trail and over to Angel’s Rest. This is a panoramic picture taken with four separate photos.
No CommentsAnother views of the Multnomah Creek above Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge.
No CommentsI liked this section of the trail as it travels right next to the river. There is an alternate route that you can take when this on is unpassable due to high water.
No CommentsMy webpage redesign is almost complete. I put up a new portfolio with links to printroom.com, my new print store, so go check it out. I also added a “Stay Connected” section to the sidebar where you can follow me on some of the social networking websites. Let me know what you think.

No CommentsHere you can see a number of fallen trees that cross the river, as I continued up the Multnomah Creek.
No CommentsHere is one of the many tributary creeks entering the Multnomah Creek.
No CommentsHere is a close up view of some of the rapid on the Multnomah Creek. I like the effects that the 10 seconds exposure brings.
No CommentsAnother view of the Multnomah Creek upriver of Multnomah Falls. Even though the Gorge’s winter color is not as spectacular as Spring, this was a pretty nice spot with the moss and evergreens.
No CommentsAfter coming down from Devil’s Rest, I headed over to the Multnomah creek for some more pictures. Here is the view I got when I first encountered the creek.
No CommentsIt had rained the day before, so there was plenty of running water all across the Gorge. Here is a river crossing on a side trail close to Devil’s Rest.
No CommentsThe top of Devils Rest is covered with trees, so there is little to see. You can get a nice view of the Gorge from a short way down on a separate lookout trail. This is one of the views from that lookout.
No CommentsAfter Fairy Falls, I continued up to Devils Rest. Here is the trail which leads to the top of Devils Rest. It was fairly foggy in the morning, but the fog did burn off by the afternoon.
No CommentsAfter Wahkeena Falls, I continued up the Wahkeena Trail to Fairy Falls.
No CommentsIn the beginning of Feburary, I took a day trip out to the Columbia Gorge for some waterfalls pictures. My first stop was Wahkeena Falls pictured in the distance.
