No CommentsHere is another view of my ski trip along the Iron Horse State Park Trail. The trail is also called the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. It is a 17 mile old railroad bed that you can bike on in the summer. Part of the trail is groomed during the winter.
No CommentsDuring a weekend in January, I headed up to Snoqualmie Pass to do some Nordic Skiing. I stopped at Hyak Sno-park to ski along the Iron Horse State Park Trail.
No CommentsOn our way home, stopped at Ray Benson Sno-park for a couple hours of skiing. It was more cloudy than the other dayz as you can see from the photo. Ray Benson Sno-park is at the Santiam Pass near Hoodoo Ski Resort. This is a view along one of the trails I took near the sno-park.

No CommentsThe second day, I went nordic skiing from the Swampy Sno-park to the Nordeen Shelter. The Nordeen shelter sits atop a small ridge overlooking the tree filled valley below. The shelter was built in 2007 after the old one burned down.

No CommentsThere are several snow shelters in the Swampy Nordic Ski Area. This is one of them, which is actually right next to the Swampy Sno-park. The photo was taken from the parking lot.
No CommentsDuring our stay in Bend, we spent most of our time at the Swampy Sno-park. Swampy is a couple of miles East of Mt Bachelor along the cascade highway. It is at about 6000 ft and had about 4 feet of snow on the ground. Here is one of the trails we skied on at Swampy.

No CommentsOn the third day of your trip, Trista and I went skiing at Pocket Creek Sno-park. Pocket Creek Sno-park is on the East side of Mt Hood just North of Teacup Sno-park, a popular nordic skiing destination on Mt Hood.
