About Me

Some of my interests include hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, road biking, and photography. The main theme of this blog will be about traveling, adventures, exploring and photography. I love being out in the backcountry exploring new places and having adventures.

Welcome to my blog. I grew up living near St Paul, Minnesota, for most of my life. In the spring of 2007, my wife, our two young kids, and I moved to Beaverton, Oregon. So I decided to start this blog to document my adventures here in the Pacific Northwest.

I have always been interested in photography, but our move to the Pacific Northwest really inspired me to improve my skills. The more pictures I take, the more interested I am getting.

I have been biking since elementary school. I got my first road bike in high school and Trista and I purchased mountain bikes soon after we were married. I really didn’t get passionate about biking until I left my engineering job at Honeywell about 10 years ago. I went from biking 800 miles a year to 3000 miles the next year. Today, I do around 3000-4000 miles a year. I also road my first Cycle Oregon in 2010-which was 500 miles in 7 days.

Hiking in the mountains has always been fun, but that is hard to do in Minnesota. Now that I am living in Oregon, hiking, snowshoeing and backpacking have been a major activity for me. I try to show parts of these biking and hiking adventures in the pictures I take an post on this blog, as a way of sharing the experiences and encouraging others to get out and explore.
