The Hoyt Arboretum has a Magnolia collection that was just starting to come out. Here is one of them that I saw while walking on the magnolia trail, which is a side trail to the Wildwood trail we where hiking on. I don’t remember what species this one is, if you know leave a comment.
1 CommentThe Trilliums are out all over the trail. I got this picture will hiking on the Wildwood Trail as it goes into Washington Park.
No CommentsOn Easter weekend, we went to the Hoyt Arboretum near Washington Park and did a 3 mile hike on the Wildwood trail. The flowers were starting to come out. Here you can see the Oregon Grape up close with it’s nice yellows and greens.
No CommentsClose to the falls, I found these Columbia Kittentail flowers. Not a great shot of them, but I thought they were interesting. I still have to figure out how to capture tiny flowers.
No CommentsMore Grass Widows on the Tom McCall Preserve, I like the back lighting of this picture, I should have either use a grad filter in the field or taken another shot to get a better view of the sun.
No CommentsThis is a view from near the permanent pond in the Tom McCall Preserve of McCall point. The trail to the top of McCall Point is open in May.
No CommentsHere is the view from the end of the plateau trail in the Tom McCall Preserve looking North. Most of the pictures taken on the preserve, I added a 1.5 stop Grad filter to darken the skies in Lightroom.
No CommentsHere is another shot of the Grass Widows on the Tom McCall Preserve. This set was alone along the trail going up hill which made it a little easier to capture.
No CommentsI got this picture of the Grass Widows on the Tom McCall Preserve. They are one of the first wildflowers to come up in the spring. The flowers are small and hard to capture but I got this picture by basically putting the camera on the ground.
No CommentsI found this herd on the Tom McCall Preserve. I was able to get this shot with the Grass Widows in the foreground and the hills on the other side of the columbia river in the background. I was not able to get any closer to them.
