No CommentsHere is another view from Tom McCall point. This view is looking west into the Columbia Gorge with the town of Hood River in the distance. The Broadleaf Lupine and Puget Balsamroot were covering the top of the point with lots of colorful images.
1 CommentThe top of Tom McCall Point, which is about 1.5 miles from the parking lot at Tom McCall Preserve is a nice flat top with awesome views of the surrounding countryside. Here, I was able to capture some Puget Balsamroot up close with Mt Hod in the background. Another place to go watch the sunrise.
No CommentsThere is a nice trail that leads to Tom McCall Point with view of Mt Adams and Mt Hood as well as the Columbia Gorge. The is the lower section of the trail which looks like an old road. The trail get narrower and stepper as you go up. The point is hiding behind the clouds in this picture. As you can see, the Broadleaf Lupine and Puget Balsamroot cover the landscape.
No CommentsI took the picture just after sunrise on the Tom McCall Preserve, which is located between Hood River and The Dalles along the South side of the Columbia Gorge. The Puget Balsamroot were past their peek, but still giving the preserve some great colors to photograph.
No CommentsI was able to get out to Tom McCall at the beginning of May. The Broadleaf Lupine and Puget Balsamroot were out creating a very colorful scene. I captured this image just before sunrise along one of the trails in the preserve. You can see the columbia river and the mountains to the North in the background.
No CommentsShore Acres State Park has a nice picnic area with has great views of the coast. This is of the flowers growing in the picnic area. I search but could not find what type of flower it is, leave a comment if you know.
No CommentsThe Coquille River Lighthouse is located on the Bullards Beach State Park. I was not able to get a good picture of it because it rainy and very windy at the time we were there. I did get this image, which is right next to the lighthouse. Next Time I get down here, I will have to get a nice sunset shot.
No CommentsOne of the places we stop along the Oregon coast, South of Coos Bay was Shore Acres State Park. One of the main attractions in this state park are the formal gardens, which was built by the timber baron Louis Simpson who owned this land. Here is one of flowers that are grown inside the gardens.

No CommentsHere is another flower from a different Magnolia tree. This one was close to the first, which was at the Hoyt Arboretum in the Magnolia collection. We got there by taking walking on the magnolia trail after hiking on the Wildwood for 3 miles.
